Q.When your grandchildren discover you lived during a day in which 1.75 billion people were poor and 1 billion were hungry, how will they judge your response?
A.I want my grandchildren to be shocked. I want them to be upset. I want them to not ever hear that statistic again because that world is gone.
I want the world they live in now be a world without poverty. I don’t want a million people poor! Right now almost 2 BILLION people are! This is absurd! I want them to thank God for the amazing works he did over the past however many years. I don’t want them to thank me because I want them to know that it was all God. It Was ALL GOD who gave us everything we could have to help these people.
If only 6% of the Christians in America Adopted a child from Africa then 14.1 Million kids would have a home!
Ours is the wealthiest generation of Christians ever. We are bright, educated, and experiences. We can travel around the world in twenty-four hours or send a message in a millisecond. We have the most sophisticated research and medicines at the tips of our finger. We have ample research and medicines at the tips of our fingers. We have ample resources. A mere 2 percent of the world’s grain harvest would be enough, if shared, to erase the problems of hunger and malnutrition around the world. There is enough food on the planet to offer every person twenty-five hundred calories of sustenance a day. We have enough food to feed the hungry (Lucado, page 6, Out Live Your Life, 2010)
This almost upsets me. I would be moved and pumped to get something started for these people, but We ALREADY HAVE IT! Everything is here! It’s like we are doing a jigsaw puzzle and we can’t seem to do it because we claim we don’t have the right pieces. While everyone is watching us think we are Stupid because they are all right in front of us! AHHHH
This just upsets me. I am tired of people being hungry! SICK AND TIRED OF IT!
I hope my grandchildren don’t have to be. I pray God will help me and others change this world. Thank God for what they did down in Atlanta! We need to keep this up! We can do it NOW!
